Did you know that each of us communicates differently? Sometimes we are descriptive, sometimes we struggle with descriptive and sometimes we simply speak in circles! When we are speaking and communicating with each other as a team, it is important to establish some communication ground rules. Especially when we are speaking about someone we love – this topic tends to get all of us very emotional and sometimes we trip up a bit… Keep in mind forgiveness and openmindedness and more importantly there are multiple views that are important – not just yours… so listen and seek to understand and you’ll do just fine at the IEP/Section 504 meetings…
One very important thing to keep in mind:
- “With poor communication, problems grow. With good communication, people grow.”
