About Unified Advocate Website:
The dream for any parent is to be unified and supported by the school administration/teachers and obtain special accomodations/education plans that allow a child/student to grow positively, be inspired to learn and be encouraged to advocate for themselves. Unfortunately with information lacking and misconceptions in public awareness of visual impairments/ADHD/Dyslexia, often these types of children/students are misdiagnosed, reasonable accomodations are frequently missed that could aid the student and assumptions are made on the part of the school administration that actually hurt instead of help the student who struggles.
Often out of ignorance as adults we are the ones who stifle the very child/student we are trying to help.
The goal of this site is to help the parent, child/student and educators gain access to IEP and Section 504 resources on the internet and to present a more unified approach to the whole Individualized Education Planning Process as well as assist with the development of a Positive Advocacy Attitude that enables team building between all three parties.
I know all of you are tired… all of you are frustrated… let this place be a place where you can refresh your weary soul.
